Steve Allen (1921-2000) was a Grammy and Peabody-award winning television personality, composer, actor, and comedian. In 1954, he co-created and was the first host of The Tonight Show, the first late-night television talk show. From 1977 until 1981, he wrote, produced, and hosted Meeting of Minds, an award-winning series that aired on PBS. Allen wrote more than fifty books, including The Murder Game, Murder in Vegas, and Mark It and Strike It.
