Carl Reiner (1922-2020) was an Emmy award-winning actor, screenwriter, and director, whose career spanned seven decades. Best known as the creator and producer of The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961-1965), Reiner also wrote several books including My Anecdotal Life, All Kinds of Love, and How Paul Robeson Saved My Life and Other Mostly Happy Stories. In 1999, he was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American humor by the Kennedy Center and inducted into the Television Hall of Fame by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
