PROPOSAL INQUIRIES
Although Phoenix Books, Inc. is primarily an audiobook publisher, we are open to print, digital, and audiobook publications (some or all). Before submitting a proposal, please read the requirements below.
Submit a Query first
Before submitting a full proposal, please submit a proposal query to submissions@pbiaudio.com
The subject field of your email should read “PROPOSAL QUERY” and the working title of the project.
Your query should include a brief description of the proposed book, the general subject matter (fiction or nonfiction), specific subject (e.g. mystery; biography), and the intended audience. If we are interested in reviewing a formal proposal or full manuscript, you will receive an email from Phoenix Books, Inc.
Submitting a Proposal
Once you have received an email from Phoenix indicating an interest in reviewing your project, please follow the instructions below.
Your book proposal should include:
- A brief description of the book
- An outline and/or Table of Contents
- A minimum of three sample chapters, including front matter—or the complete manuscript
- The estimated word count, number of images (illustrations and/or photos), and any additional materials.
- A list of proposed images and/or illustrative materials, along with an explanation of image rights (In most cases, authors are required to secure the rights to images, including any associated costs).
- An Author Bio, which should include previous publications, publishing history, and author platform, including extent of social media engagement (number of followers on X/Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
We will acknowledge receipt of your materials and contact you if further information is needed. The review process may take some time to complete, but you will receive a definite decision within a reasonable amount of time.
